Allegro/Orcad selects objects in a hierarchy. If your Find/Select filter only has Nets or Clines active, hovering over them will cause the matching object to flash. If you have the Find filter set with all options on for EtchEdit or PlacementEdit modes, then you will be selecting individual vias or individual Cline segments first. But you can menu-mouse click and override that hierarchy to act on the full Cline or the Net. The SuperFilter menu might help. Overriding the Find filter can be faster than changing individual options all the time. You just have to remember to turn it off…
