Forum Post: How to export GDS using terminal

Hi, I want to export GDS from the given layout. I know that it can be done by using Virtuoso CIW like File-->Export-->streamOut and giving the required fields. But I want to do it using terminal (linux commands). I have seen that it can be done using strmout command but I don't know how to do it. Please tell me how to use it. If possible give an example. Thanks,
