You have three options to interface OrCAD X Presto and a CAD tool like Solidworks: Drawing Interchange Format (DXF) In OrCAD X Presto, you can import .dxf files to establish an interface between ECAD and MCAD. This can be done using ECO — DXF Import . You can import a DXF file, a layer c onversion fil e (*. cnv ) is required that maps the clas ses and subclasses to certain DXF layers. Incremental Data Exchange (IDX) You can also import or export IDX file, using ECO — IDX Import or ECO — IDX Emport . You can set the output or input file names. In this way, files from OrCAD X Presto can be exported to SolidWorks and files from SolidWorks can be imported into OrCAD X Presto. 3. Mechanical Computer-Aided Design X (MCADX) A seamless flow between the electronic and mechanical world is important for the success of your design. Simply access it through ECO — MCADX Import or ECO — MCADX Emport . The availability of the new MCAD/ECAD co-design solution – MCADX for SolidWorks - helps to bridge this gap with co-design between the PCB editor and SolidWorks allowing for: real-time collaboration, effortless data exchange and design validation.
